Everything To Know About Subverse Plumping Peptide Serum

Our skin's barrier function is key to healthy-looking skin as well as slowing the signs of aging that we all want to avoid. With a compromised skin barrier comes dullness, dehydration, loss of elasticity, and rough texture. As we age, not only does skin trend toward dehydration and dryness but the skin’s matrix or supporting network slowly declines leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In addition to the visual signs, dehydration can also make our skin less resilient to environmental stress, accelerating sensitivities and inflammation. With skin inflammation comes further accelerated aging sometimes referred to as inflammaging. Supporting the skin barrier as well as underlying skin structure provides a multifaceted approach to healthy, plump skin. Introducing the MAKE Subverse Plumping Peptide Serum to our skincare collection and hopefully, your individual skin care routine moving forward.

What Is Subverse?

Our complexion enhancing Subverse Plumping Peptide Serum utilizes a clinically tested potent peptide, Matrixyl™ Synthe'6™, and a new generation of natural hydration active ingredients with dual-action to target the root cause of skin dehydration and loss of firmness. The lightweight, slippy formula applies easily and absorbs quickly to leave skin visibly plumped and with an optimal hydration balance, which is key to maintaining healthy looking skin. When skin gets dry, it becomes less resilient to environmental irritants, looks dull, and tends to lose its smoothness and suppleness. Skin dryness combined with decreased production of skin structuring molecules that comes with aging leads to skin sagging, fine lines, and loss of elasticity. The Subverse serum’s multi-targeted moisturizing action provides rapid and continuous improvement of skin hydration, reduces skin water loss, and smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How Do Peptides Benefit the Skin?

Peptides are ubiquitous in the body and there are hundreds of peptides with vastly different functions. The use of peptides in cosmetics is still an emerging field with new development, research, and potential. Cosmetic peptides are mostly synthetic and specially crafted for specific biological functions and optimized for stability and skin penetration. One popular modification to enhance penetration is the addition of a palmitoyl group to make the peptide more oil soluble.

Cosmetic peptides are classified into five groups based on function: enzyme inhibitor peptides, carrier peptides, neurotransmitter inhibitor peptides, antimicrobial peptides, and signaling peptides. The Subverse Serum utilizes a signaling peptide, Palmitoyl tripeptide-38, that works to increase matrix protein production within skin, especially collagen, by exploiting the skin’s natural rejuvenation feedback loop. The trade name Matrixyl Synthe-6 is a matrikine-mimetic peptide developed by Sederma, Inc. that targets the six building blocks of the skin matrix that make up the network responsible for skin structure. Supporting the structure network improves elasticity, firmness, and plumpness. This well known peptide is clinically proven to smooth skin texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on both the forehead and around the eyes.

In clinical tests: “After 2 months of twice daily use, the appearance of wrinkles decreased by 31% overall and up to 100% among 25 participants.”
